[burden-eu] Happy New Year !

Happy new year 2023

Dear colleague,

From the whole burden-eu team, we would like to wish you a very happy and healthy 2023!

2023 will also be a special year for our COST Action, because it will be our final full year. In our last Management Committee meeting, we agreed on a prolongation of the lifespan of the Action with six months, which implies that our Action will come to an end on 30 April 2024. In the coming year, we will therefore take the time to reflect upon the future of the network.

In the meantime, I would like to inform you of the different activities that we will organize in 2023:

Individual grants. Please have a look at our new open call for short-term scientific missions and virtual mobility grants, to learn about our current opportunities for individual capacity building.

Training schools. We will be organizing a brand-new Training School on quantifying risk factor-attributable burden, health impact assessment and knowledge translation. The Training School will take place end of May, and will be hosted in Lisbon. More information will be shared soon.

Workshops. To further our work on Knowledge Translation, we will organize a dedicated workshop in Cork, Ireland, likely in April. Our Task Forces are also continuing their online meetings and discussions.

Working Group meeting. Our next Working Group meeting will take place in September, and will be hosted in Tallinn. This meeting will provide a platform for discussing a joint burden of disease research agenda, and for reflecting on the future of our network.

We look forward to reconnecting during these events!

Best wishes,

Brecht
