Join the network

There are various opportunities to participate in the network for PhD students, early stage and senior researchers.

You can express your interest to join any of the working groups by applying via https://e-services.cost.eu/action/CA18218/working-groups/apply. We request all participants to select at least one "vertical" working group (NCDs, Communicable diseases, Risk factors) and at least one "horizontal" working group (Methods, Knowledge Translation).

It is required to have an e-COST profile to submit your application. If needed, you can create an e-cost account via https://e-services.cost.eu/user/registration/email.

Everyone is welcome to join the network. However, your eligibility for receiving financial support will depend on the country of your affiliation.

Your country of affiliation is a COST Full or Cooperating Member

There are currently 38 COST Members (Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, The Netherlands, The Republic of North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom) and 1 COST Cooperating Member (Israel).

A subset of these countries are defined as Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITCs). These countries are considered to be less research-intensive, and are prioritize for participation. The current list of ITCs include Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Republic of North Macedonia, Republic of Serbia and Turkey. Overseas territories of Spain (Canary Islands) and France (French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Mayotte, Réunion, and Saint-Martin) are also considered to be ITCs. Affiliates from these countries are eligible for all COST financial support tools.

Your country of affiliation is a COST Near Neighbour Country

The COST Near-Neighbour Countries currently include Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt, Georgia, Jordan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Russia, Syria, Tunisia, and Ukraine. More information on COST global networking is available here.

Affiliates from these countries are eligible for all COST financial support tools.

Your country of affiliation is a Third State (International Partner Country)

The COST International Partner Countries include all countries that are not Full or Cooperating Members or Near Neighbour Countries. More information on COST global networking is available here.

Affiliates from these countries are only eligible for reimbursement of meeting attendance (once in the Action's lifetime) and participation to Training Schools as Trainer.

You work for a European or international organisation

COST Actions are open to participation of the European Commission (EC) and EU bodies, offices and agencies; International Organisations; and European RTD Organisations.

Participants from International Organisations are only eligible for reimbursement of meeting attendance (once in the Action's lifetime) and participation to Training Schools as Trainer. Participants from European RTD Organisations are eligible for all COST financial support tools, with exception of the ITC Conference Grants.
