The Global burden of heart disease from big data to precision public health

research article has been published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology, outlining the burden of ischaemic heart disease and its attributable risk factors in 204 countries and territories from 1990 to 2019. Ischaemic heart disease remains the leading cause of ill-health and premature mortality.

Accompanying the article is an editorial which synthesises challenges around: epidemiology; disease burden; risk factors; and, relevance of socio-demographic transition associated with effective prevention and mitigation.
