Training Schools are organised on Action related research topics and provide dissemination opportunities for an Action’s activities. Training Schools provide intensive training in basic and emerging research topics within the organisations involved in the Action. Participants are mainly, but not exclusively, young researchers involved in the Action.
Our Training Schools specifically aim to strengthen capacity in burden of disease assessment across Europe.
The duration of a Training School is normally between three days and two weeks.
COST support covers organisation of the training school and participation support to both trainers (including external experts) and trainees:
Trainees can receive a trainee grant, which contributes to the overall travel, accommodation and meal expenses of the grantee.
Trainers can receive reimbursement of travel and subsistence expenses, but no lecture fee.
The local organisers will receive a fixed amount of local organiser support according to COST rules.
COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology – see www.cost.eu) is a unique platform where European researchers can jointly develop their ideas and initiatives across all scientific disciplines through trans-European networking of nationally funded research. COST is supported by the European Union (EU) Horizon 2020 Programme.
